Registration

Our registration process has been carefully designed so that families have the opportunity to learn about the philosophy that is deeply embedded in the way we operate at Bloom Academy.  Our registration process includes a tour, an online application, and optional Experience days. Families are welcome to register at any point in the year as space allows. Waitlist membership offers will be on a rolling basis, as spots are available!

Whether your family is in the first stage of exploring self-directed education, or ready to commit to Bloom Academy, we look forward to hearing from you!

Step 1: Schedule a tour!

Want to see what we’re all about? Not only will you get to see self-directed learning in action, but we’ll also be able to meet to answer any questions you may have about our program, our philosophy, or anything else on your mind! Feel free to bring your kiddo along so that we may begin to get to know them and learn about activities they may be interested in participating in!

In an effort to make our time with you as constructive as possible during our in-person meeting, we ask that you read through these documents prior to visiting us.

Step 2: Register Online!

If you decide, after the tour, that you’d like to move forward, then the next step is completing our Registration Form.*

This form asks a series of questions that will help us to learn more about your family and, more specifically, your kiddo. Please do not stress over these questions! We just want to know as much as possible so that we may create the most meaningful and inspiring learning environment possible. There is a $25 registration fee that we ask to be paid prior to submitting your form.

*Completing the registration form does not solidify a spot at Bloom Academy.

Step 3: Schedule experience days!

Our free Experience Days (up to 3) give you a chance to get the feel for what daily life is like at Bloom. We understand that this way of learning can seem a bit unfamiliar in the beginning so we find these days to be quite helpful. It is also important to note that the “deschooling” process takes time for both children and adults- a week is not enough time for most children to use this new freedom in an intentional way or for some parents to feel less anxious about their child taking control of their learning. As mentioned before, this is a process that takes time and we will be here to support you every step of the way! After your Experience Days, we will meet to share observations and feedback.

Step 4: Join!

If we all agree that Bloom Academy is a good fit for your family, you will receive an email that includes a welcome letter and all of the “nitty gritty” paperwork that we need to solidify membership.

Welcome to Bloom Academy!

We can’t wait to learn, play, and “bloom” with your kiddo! 🌻

We know that times can be tough and we want to ensure we do what we can to help with costs. Here are some financial aid options we are able to offer at this time.

 Registration FAQs

  • Registration is open year-round! Feel free to apply whenever you are ready to dive deep into self-directed learning with us. Our online registration form can be found here.

  • In order to be a fully self-directed environment, Bloom Academy is not an accredited school for students but a learning center for homeschoolers. If we went the route of becoming a school, then we would have to either implement a pre-determined curriculum or participate in the state standardized testing; both of those being requirements that are not aligned with our philosophy.

  • We can absolutely offer assistance with notifying Clark County School District of your intent to homeschool and complying with their requirements. It is a very simple process. We can provide sample letters that we, and other parents, have used and we can put you in touch with other Bloom Academy families for specific guidance. For some incredibly helpful information on the process of registering as homeschoolers in Nevada, we recommend you visit the Nevada Homeschool Network.

  • Bloom Academy has capacity for 15-18 children per day—having a small program is an important part of our philosophy so we may ensure each child is getting the individualized attention necessary for their growth. Once we have filled those spots, you will be placed on the waitlist to be contacted if/when spots are available.

  • Yes! Though, of course, it all depends on if we have any spots for additional children at that point in the year. But we will gladly accept your application at any time for consideration as soon as there are spaces available.

  • Think of sessions as semesters! Our fall session runs August-December and our spring session runs January-May.

  • 2 days per week= $2,160 per session

    3 days per week= $3,240 per session

    4 days per week= $4,320 per session

    5 days per week= $5,400 per session

  • Membership fees include access to our space for the days and times established by your family during the registration process. It entitles your child(ren) to participate in any of the workshops we offer, and to take advantage of personalized one-on-one tutorials. It includes access to an individual advisor on our staff, as well as to all the resources of our program: space to work, play, and hang out in; computers and printers; spaces we utilize outside of our building for activities; etc.

  • Payment is due in full prior to August 1st for the fall session and January 1st for the spring session.

If unable to make the payment in full, we have created a payment program in which we will accept four (4) equal payments due on the 1st of August, September, October, and November for the fall session and January, February, March, and April for the spring session. Monthly payments will include an additional 5% processing fee.

  • Please contact us by email or by phone, (702) 527-2233, and we will be happy to chat with you!
